ABOUT

NYB_©_Sean_Purser_2018-0951.jpg

I am a recent first class graduate of Costume Design and Making at Nottingham Trent University and since graduating in 2019 have worked as a Wardrobe Assistant, Dresser and Maintenance Assistant for companies such as Leeds Playhouse, Opera North and Northern Ballet. I am interested in becoming a Dresser or stepping up to more Wardrobe Assistant roles.

I am an incredibly organised and cool headed person, and feel that one of my major strengths is my ability to keep calm in all situations, even emergencies or last minute changes, which I believe suits me very well working within a wardrobe department. I have often been told that I am a safe pair of hands and that supervisors are always happy to leave me with cast who may be nervous since I always manage to calm people down and keep composure. I am prepared to make decisions and ready for anything during performances, as well as confident with maintenance and laundry calls on performances.

I enjoy working with people and not only dressing, but becoming part of a family that can work together while also having a good time. I am a very good listener and communicator, making sure to always take the time to listen to people, reassure them and work through situations in a calm and careful manner. I am comfortable managing situations and working through them for the best outcome, using my own knowledge and experience of working on large scale shows to utilise the facilities available to me.
